On March 31st, we will celebrate Easter Sunday, so we are planning to finish the book of Matthew by March 17th for SWAG’s break. This means that we will need to double up on our reading for the next few Sundays.

Matthew: Chapter 18 (Rank in the Kingdom)
1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (NIV New International Version)

Matthew: Chapter 19 (The Rich young Ruler)
21 Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”(NIV New International Version)

Matthew: Chapter 20 (Laborers in the Vineyard)
1 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. 2 He agreed to pay them a denarius[a] for the day and sent them into his vineyard… continue reading through verse 16.(NIV New International Version)

Matthew: Chapter 21 (Parable of the Landowner)
18 Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19 Jesus Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered. (NIV New International Version)
